A pressure group, the South South Reawakening Group, has called on the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ette Ibas, to disclose the state’s revenue profile and expenditure records since he assumed office.
The group’s convener, Joseph Ambakederimo, said the prolonged political standoff between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminialayi Fubara has yielded no progress toward restoring democratic structures in the state.
Ambakederimo accused Ibas of operating with impunity, exceeding his mandate, and engaging in reckless spending. He claimed that in the five months since Ibas took office, no capital projects have been executed, yet about ₦706 billion has reportedly been spent solely on salaries and recurrent costs.
He alleged that the entire sum—over ₦706 billion—has been squandered without any visible developmental impact.
