Former President of the Ijaw Youths Council, Worldwide, Udengs Eradiri, has criticized governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, over their opposition to the Rainbow Coalition promoted by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Eradiri questioned why the governors would oppose a political arrangement which Wike says is aimed at mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He argued that the governors should be focused on ensuring the South completes its proposed eight-year tenure rather than opposing efforts to support the President.
The former Bayelsa State Commissioner also alleged that some governors were using the coalition controversy as a bargaining strategy over candidates in their respective states. He further claimed that the governors were concerned about possible political agreements in the states, alleging that they had not properly utilised subsidy funds released by the Federal Government.
