Nigerian forward Gift Orban scored and provided an assist as Amedspor defeated Besiktas 3-2 in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.
Orban opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a powerful long-range strike from about 25 metres before setting up Dia Saba for Amedspor’s second goal nine minutes later.
The result takes Orban’s tally to seven goals and two assists in six league appearances. He has also scored in each of his last four league matches.
Dusan Vlahovic pulled one back for Besiktas early in the second half before Furkan Soyalp restored Amedspor’s two-goal advantage.
Amedspor were reduced to ten men after Amadou Cisse was sent off, while Orkun Kökçü converted a late penalty for Besiktas.
The hosts held on to secure the victory and move to the top of the Turkish Super Lig, while Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi remained an unused substitute for Besiktas.
