Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has accepted his appointment as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election.
Yari, who represents Zamfara West in the Senate and is a former governor of Zamfara State, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the APC leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility. He said he accepted the assignment with deep gratitude and full seriousness.
The appointment followed the constitution of the APC Presidential Campaign Council by President Tinubu. The council will be chaired by Tinubu, with Vice President Kashim Shettima serving as Vice-Chairman I. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma was appointed Secretary, while APC National Secretary Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman were named Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.
The 223-member campaign structure includes several directorates responsible for mobilisation, administration, election planning, legal affairs, media and strategic communications. Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole was appointed Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation, while James Faleke will oversee Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.
Yari’s appointment places him at the centre of the APC’s campaign machinery as the ruling party prepares for the 2027 presidential election and seeks to secure a second term for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket. President Tinubu has charged members of the council to work towards victory for the APC.
