The Senate has condemned the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, describing the incident as a national tragedy.
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, made the condemnation on Tuesday as lawmakers resumed plenary.
Akpabio said the attack represented an assault on the nation’s collective humanity, stressing the urgent need for stronger measures to protect schools and communities across the country.
He called for renewed efforts to address insecurity and prevent further attacks on educational institutions.
