Police Arrest 12 Suspects Over Violent Attack at Unity Estate, Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested twelve suspects in connection with the violent invasion and attack at Unity Estate along Airport Road, Port Harcourt.

According to the police, the incident, which occurred on Monday, January 5, left several residents traumatized, while properties were also damaged during the attack.

The police disclosed that one of the victims, Apostle Stephen Nmacha of the Rumuekini Community, was abducted after being shot in the leg by the attackers.

Confirming the arrests, the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe Koko, said preliminary investigations revealed that the assailants were members of the OSPAC vigilante group, allegedly supported by hired thugs.

She further stated that the Akpor OSPAC Commander personally led the violent invasion, with the assistance of Patrick Akandu, Omakwelem Onu, and Ihunwo Prince.

The police spokesperson added that several exhibits were recovered from the suspects, including one automatic pump-action gun, a live cartridge, expended shells, assorted charms, five motorcycles, two minibuses, and a Sienna van allegedly used during the operation.

Investigations are ongoing, while efforts are being intensified to rescue the abducted victim and bring all those involved to justice.
