Rivers Liberation Movement Demands Arrest of Suspects Over Attack on Convener

The Rivers Liberation Movement has called on the Nigeria Police Force to arrest and prosecute those responsible for the attack on its Convener, Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa, which occurred during a live television interview in Port Harcourt.

Addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, the Director-General of the Rivers Liberation Movement, Randolph Iwo-Brown, said it was not enough for the police to only recover items seized during the attack without apprehending and prosecuting the perpetrators.

Other members of the movement also condemned the incident, stressing that the attack on Dr. Nwibubasa would not deter them from pursuing their political objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

They urged security agencies to ensure justice is served and to guarantee the safety of political actors and citizens in the state.
