The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Rivers State Command, says it conducted 81 major operations against oil theft, illegal bunkering, pipeline vandalism and other security offences within the first 100 days of Dennis Reuben as State Commandant.
The Command says the operations led to the arrest of 148 suspects, with 11 convictions secured, while 20 other cases are undergoing prosecution. The achievements were disclosed during activities marking Reuben’s first 100 days in office at the Command Headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The NSCDC also says it has intensified surveillance in the state’s maritime environment following the deployment of two gunboats. It further carried out enforcement actions against six private guard companies over alleged regulatory violations, while the Commandant stressed intelligence-led operations and collaboration with other security agencies.
