Niger Delta Economic Summit to Drive Investment, Industrial Growth

The Niger Delta Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture, NDCCITMA, says the forthcoming Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit will provide a platform for attracting investments and accelerating industrial development across the region.

Chairman of the Board of NDCCITMA, Idaere Gogo-Ogan, stated this at a pre-summit press briefing held at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt.

The summit, scheduled for September 15th to 17th in Port Harcourt, is themed, “Driving Investment, Innovation and Industrial Growth in the Niger Delta.”

Gogo-Ogan said the event will bring together the nine Niger Delta states, the Federal Government, the Niger Delta Development Commission, private-sector players, investors and development partners.

He said the objective is to transform the region into a diversified and globally competitive economy.

Gogo-Ogan explained that the summit will go beyond discussions, with dedicated investment deal rooms designed to connect investors, governments, project developers and financial institutions around bankable projects.

He listed agriculture and agro-processing, gas, maritime infrastructure, transportation, manufacturing, renewable energy, digital infrastructure and logistics among the sectors expected to attract investment.

The NDCCITMA Chairman said the organisers expect the summit to generate investment commitments, project partnerships, financing opportunities and practical implementation frameworks.

He described the Niger Delta as “open for business” and called on governments, investors, development partners and the organised private sector to collaborate in unlocking the region’s economic potential.
