The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Charles Wobodo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to promoting peace and sustainable development across the council.
Wobodo made the remark while receiving representatives of the Omuido and Omuajoku families of Igwuruta, who visited his office over a lingering land dispute between the two families.
He urged both parties to shun hostility and avoid actions that could damage their long-standing relationship, stressing the need for dialogue and mutual understanding.
The council boss cautioned against describing the matter as land grabbing, noting that it is a family issue that requires careful and fair consideration.
To ensure transparency, Wobodo disclosed that the matter has been referred to the Anti-Land Grabbing Committee of the Ikwerre Local Government Council for review and recommendations ahead of a final decision by the council.
