Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has urged legal professionals to remain steadfast in defending the rule of law, constitutional democracy and the fundamental rights of citizens.
Governor Fubara made the call at the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with the theme, “Beyond Limits.”
The governor described the legal system as the foundation of the relationship between government, public institutions and private organisations.
He stressed that the ultimate purpose of the law is to protect and promote the security and wellbeing of citizens.
Fubara therefore urged members of the legal profession to uphold the principles of justice and ensure that the law continues to serve as a safeguard for citizens and democratic institutions.
