Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said his quest for the presidency in 2027 is motivated by a desire to serve Nigeria rather than personal ambition.
Speaking on Saturday at the RiseUpNaija Movement Leadership Retreat in Abuja, Atiku said his candidacy is focused on strengthening democratic institutions, promoting accountable leadership, and creating equal opportunities for all Nigerians.
Addressing hundreds of young political coordinators and civic activists, the former Vice President urged Nigerian youths to protect the integrity of the country’s electoral process by rejecting vote-buying and other forms of electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He emphasized the need for active youth participation in building a transparent and credible democratic system.
