Today FM had in May 2023, reached out to the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company through its Chief Peoples Officer, Micah Ledee, on the power outage in Emohua, Ikwerre and Abua/Odual Local Government Areas of the state and what the company intends to do about the situation.
Ledee had attributed the power outage experienced in some rural communities in Rivers State to vandalism, noting that the PHED has met with different Local Governments, including Ikwerre LGA for collaboration to provide security on the lines.
He also assured that the company was working to restore electricity in the areas.
Four months later, electricity is yet to be restored in the local governments mentioned.
