Prof Nimi Briggs: UNIPORT declares 5 days of mourning, flags to fly at half mast

The late Professor Briggs was the fifth vice chancellor of the institution from 2000-2005.

The school’s administration declared that all flags on campus will fly at half-mast.

It also urged all staff, students and stakeholders to pray for the repose of the soul of the former vice chancellor, but stated that lectures and other official functions in the university will still go on as scheduled.

A statement by the family said the late Briggs. who was a Nigerian academic and Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, died in the early hours of yesterday, at the age of seventy-nine.
