The Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill has extended the deadline for the submission of memoranda and position papers on the proposed legislation.
The group said the new deadline is Friday, August 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. West Africa Time.
According to the Presidential Working Group, the extension is aimed at giving Nigerians and other stakeholders additional time to prepare and submit well-considered contributions to the proposed legislation.
It added that the move would ensure that interested individuals, institutions and organisations have adequate opportunity to make their views known.
The group urged stakeholders who wish to contribute to take advantage of the extended deadline and submit their memoranda and position papers before the new closing date.
