The consignment is worth about one point three billion naira.
NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi in a statement said the consignment packed in fifty five cartons of Tapentadol and Carisoprodol types of Tramadol was seized during examination of a container on Saturday 30th July following credible intelligence.
This follows similar efforts by anti-narcotic officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja that thwarted bids by drug traffickers to export various psychoactive substances to London and Dubai, through the Lagos airport in the past week.
The statement said at least, five suspects have so far been arrested in connection to the attempts.
One of the suspects Ebhodaghei Gloria Osene-Meshen was arrested on Monday 25th July, in a Dubai, UAE aircraft during the outward clearance of travelers on Rwanda Air via Kigali to Dubai.
In the meantime, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Buba Marwa has commended the officers of the agency for their vigilance and commitment and urged them to remain resolute in the pursuit of the Agency’s goal.
