This is according to the Director of the Center for Peace and Security Studies at the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Martins Ikechukwu who was reacting to the increasing rate of insecurity across the country.
Professor Ikechukwu who spoke in interview with Today FM’s Chinedu Iwunna said the visa on arrival policy opened the door for all sort of people to get into the country with no contribution to the nation’s economy.
He said such people may now have organized themselves to find a means of survival leading to the persisting insecurity.
The professor however assured that the trend in the country today can be reversed if the people especially the youths can understand the supremacy of individual rights and freedom.
