Japanese Elections; SHINZO ABE has claimed victory for the upper house of parliament.

Prime Minister ABE said voters backed his economic policies, with exit polls suggesting that his coalition will win most of the one hundred and twenty-one seats in contention.

The anticipated result would mean increasing the coalition’s majority in parliament, as a two-thirds majority could lead to a vote on constitutional change.
