The University in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Okiridu, explained that the university management suspended 2 of the students for their alleged involvement in cultism, while the third student was suspended for alleged rape.
The statement mentioned that Julius Isirimah, of the Chemistry Department and Dokubo Sowanate, from the Geography and Environmental Studies Department, were the duo suspended for cultism.
The statement noted that the 2 suspected to be cultists had engaged in cult battle in which Dokubo was severely injured, disclosing that the matter had been referred to the University Students’ Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and advise.
The University noted that Nwiroegbu Onyebuchi suspended for alleged rape of a female student was a final-year student of the Department of Computer Science, saying that Nwiroegbu was suspended after the female victim whose name was withheld reported the matter to the University management.
