Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has welcomed members of the National Assembly who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing their move as courageous and forward-looking.
The defectors include Senators Allwell Onyesoh (Rivers East) and Barinada Mpigi (Rivers South-East), as well as members of the House of Representatives Dumnamene Dekor, Solomon Bob, Cyril Hart, Victor Obuzor, Blessing Amadi, and Felix Nwaeke.
In a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Boniface Onyedi, Governor Fubara commended the lawmakers for their decision, noting that it reflects a commitment to the collective progress of Rivers State.
The governor also praised earlier defectors who have aligned with his administration, stressing that the expanding coalition would strengthen Rivers State’s integration into national governance and enhance its ability to attract greater development opportunities.
