The External Solicitor to PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Barrister Chukwuma Chinwo, says representatives of the university were asked to leave a Rivers State House of Assembly committee hearing after attempting to present their position on the matter.
Chinwo, who spoke to Today FM, said the university was invited to appear before the committee but its legal team considered the invitation inappropriate. He said he was subsequently mandated to represent the university and attempted to submit a letter outlining its position.
According to him, the legal team was asked to leave the Deputy Speaker’s office, who chairs the committee, while the university’s letter was allegedly not received. Chinwo also said the university had earlier protested comments alleging mismanagement and lack of accountability, but claimed the protest letter was also not received.
