Former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Tammy Danagogo, has denied allegations of involvement in a purported assassination plot alongside Pastor Tombari Joseph Gbeneol and others.
In a reaction to reports circulating online, Danagogo described the claims as baseless, false, and fabricated. The former Minister for Sports, through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Obele Briggs, stated that Danagogo has no dealings with the alleged parties and was never involved in any discussion, meeting, or plan related to violence, assassination, or any unlawful activity.
The statement condemned the reports as malicious and deliberately crafted to tarnish Danagogo’s reputation, mislead the public, and link him to matters he has no knowledge of. Briggs emphasized that the allegations are reckless and constitute a gross abuse of responsible journalism.
Danagogo was described as a peace-loving, law-abiding citizen who has served Rivers State and Nigeria with integrity. The statement urged the public to disregard the unfounded claims, noting that throughout his career, Danagogo has consistently upheld the rule of law, due process, and peaceful coexistence.
It further reiterated that Danagogo remains committed to peace, justice, and the stability of Rivers State and will not be distracted by baseless attempts to malign his character.
