D’Tigress Crush Cameroon to Reach AfroBasket Semifinals

Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket following a dominant 83–47 win over Cameroon.

The victory keeps Nigeria on track for a record fifth consecutive AfroBasket title and extends their unbeaten run in the competition to 27 games since 2015.

Despite a slow start that saw Cameroon take an early lead, D’Tigress quickly took control with strong performances from Amy Okonkwo, who scored 18 points, and support from Nicole Enabosi, Victoria Macaulay, and Elizabeth Balogun.

The win also secures Nigeria’s place in the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament as one of Africa’s top four teams.

D’Tigress will face Senegal next in what promises to be a crucial semifinal clash.
