Covid-19: Rivers State government releases 62 inmates

Of the discharged inmates, 46 were convicted while sixteen were awaiting trials from Port Harcourt, Degema and Ahoada prisons.

Justice Adama while addressing the freed inmates at the goal delivery exercise, charged them to remain law abiding citizens.

The Comptroller of the Correctional Facility, Rivers State Command, Olumide Tinuoye said the aim of the goal delivery is to decongest the prisons in the state, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our correspondent, Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that sixty-one males and one female benefited from the goal delivery exercise.
