Chukwudi Dimkpa denies defecting to PDP

Dimkpa in a statement he signed, said his attention was drawn to a publication across the media with the claim of his alleged defection, signed by Bishop Best, Professor Blessing Didia, Dennis Amadi and other respected leaders of the PDP, where his name was mentioned as one of the PDP stakeholders of the local government.

Dimkpa said while he does not have an issue with the decision of the stakeholders publicly pledging their support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, he is at a loss as to how he ended up a signatory to the communiqué.

He said it is important to clarify that he is not a member of the PDP but he remains a committed member of the APC.

Dimkpa however commended members of the PDP for rising up to the occasion, joining others to protect the sanctity and prestige of the office of the Governor of the state.

The former NDDC Board rep said regardless of party affiliations, like other well-meaning citizens of Rivers State, he is opposed to any illegal and unpleasant arrangements, geared towards engineering the removal of Governor Fubara, noting that such move is not only distracting but is bound to shatter the fragile peace being enjoyed in the state.
