Former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, has said Africa possesses the solutions to many of the world’s most pressing problems, particularly those relating to climate change and sustainable development.
He made the remark at the Imo State Economic Summit 2025 in Owerri, themed “Unlocking Imo’s Economic Potential: Partnership, Investment, and Innovation.”
Ban Ki-moon, who also served as South Korea’s foreign minister, stressed that the world cannot achieve true sustainability without confronting Africa’s unique challenges. He noted that meaningful global progress depends on stronger support, investment, and collaborative efforts to unlock the continent’s full potential.
