Activist urge police to go after politicians and traditional leaders who aide and sponsor criminals

A Port Harcourt-based human rights activist, Charles Jaja, made the appeal when he carried out a protest over the gruesome murder of late Superintendent of Police Bako Angbashim, and condolence visit to the Command headquarters in Port Harcourt.

Jaja claimed that reports had proven that several crimes are traceable to politicians and traditional leaders in communities across the state.

Jaja, while narrating how helpful the late SP ANGBASHIM was to the entire Rivers South-East Senatorial District, condoled with the Nigerian Police and his family, insisting that his killers, their sponsors, and other sponsors of violent crimes in the state must be brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others.

In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka commended the Port Harcourt based Human Rights Activist, saying that the death of SP ANGBASHIM is a wake-up call to both the federal and state government.

CP Emeka also emphasized that the police is not deterred by the killing of the DPO in their quest to ensuring a crime-free Rivers State.
