The Rivers Liberation Movement has described the 2027 general election as a defining moment for Nigeria’s democracy.
Convener of the group, Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa, said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is prepared to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process by resisting any attempts to undermine the will of the people.
Dr. Nwibubasa made the remarks shortly after the ADC Membership Revalidation Committee visited Eleme Local Government Area to assess the party’s structure and grassroots presence.
He expressed satisfaction with the growth and expanding influence of the ADC in Rivers State, noting that the increasing membership strength reflects public confidence in the party’s vision and leadership.
According to him, the party remains committed to deepening internal democracy and strengthening its grassroots base ahead of the 2027 polls.
Also speaking, an indigene of Aleto, Gabriel Oluka Nke, said he has intensified efforts to mobilize support for the ADC at the grassroots level. The founder of the Adei Eleme Foundation stated that sensitization campaigns are ongoing to encourage wider political participation among residents in preparation for the forthcoming general elections.
