Force Public Relations Officer, JIMOH MOSHOOD; however disclosed in a statement that normalcy has since been restored in the affected area.
MOSHOOD said the Force Headquarters considers the incident as unfortunate, adding that a joint investigation team has been constituted by the Chief of Defence Staff to harmonize the findings from the preliminary investigations carried out by the Police and the Army.
He maintained that the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army have a long time good working relationship which cannot be compromised by misguided personnel on both sides.
The Force spokesman also disclosed that the Inspector General of Police has directed the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone Twelve in Bauchi and the Commissioner of Police in Yobe State to sustain the normalcy that has been restored.
