A UN Spokesperson, FARHAN HAQ said the court was aware that Philippines was also planning to withdraw from the International Criminal Court and urged them and other nations to reconsider.
South Africa, Burundi and Gambia have made known their plans to withdraw saying the court has been unfair to African nations.
Haq defended the Hague-based court which was established in 2002 as a path breaking, international institution that can hold different parties and leaders accountable for the worst international crimes.
