At least two people have been reported killed and normal activities disrupted in Owo town, which is next to the capital Akure.
Channels Television is reporting that trouble started following a confrontation between supporters of the two main parties contesting the election.
Several houses are also reported to have been razed down on Thursday night.
Following the development; Governor OLUSEGUN MIMIKO has reinforced the call by the Peoples Democratic Party for the election to be postponed.
The State Government declared today public holiday amidst calls by the PDP and other smaller parties for the election to be delayed.
The PDP and the rival All Progressives Congress are trading blames over the cause of the violent confrontation.
Earlier today, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, for INEC, SEGUN AGBAJE, declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission will go ahead with the conduct of the election tomorrow despite the complaint by the PDP.
