UPTH Management Confirms Admission of Two Suspected Monkey Pox Patients

The Chief Medical Director, Professor AARON OJULE said the patients are under observation and investigations are being conducted to determine if their ailment is actually as a result of monkey pox outbreak.
Professor OJULE told newsmen that the two patients are from Rivers State, as he enjoined the general public to remain alert and report any suspected case to the authorities for prompt intervention.
The UPTH Chief Medical Director also cautioned that there was no cause to panic, adding that the monkey pox virus was not as dangerous as Ebola and Lassa fever viruses.
Professor AARON OJULE also advised members of the public to observe the necessary precautionary measures, such as enhanced personal hygiene and to avoid hand shake as much as possible, as efforts continue to check the outbreak of monkey pox.
