Our correspondent gathered that the travelers who were returning from Owerri to Port Harcourt last night were ambushed by the hoodlums who took them away.
A source within Omurelu community who confirmed the incident to our correspondent disclosed that the hoodlums had earlier killed a young man inside the village before diverting the passengers in a hiace bus.
At the time of this report, our source said the whereabouts of the kidnap victims is still unknown and no much presence of the police have been seen in the area but added that about four young men suspected to be criminals were shot dead within former Rison Palm area.
When contacted the spokesman of Rivers State Police Command, NNAMDI OMONI said the command is yet to be briefed on the latest incident but promised to respond accordingly after hearing from the Divisional Police officer in charge of the area.
