UNICAL Dismisses Eight Staff Over Misconduct

The University of Calabar has dismissed eight members of staff and delayed the promotion of another by two years over various acts of misconduct.

The disciplinary actions, approved at the institution’s 174th Governing Council meeting, followed investigations into offences including examination malpractice, diversion of funds and vandalism.

The university said it maintains a zero-tolerance policy for unethical practices, reaffirming its commitment to integrity and excellence in service delivery under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Offiong Efanga Offiong.
