Twenty-one states have applied for the ten billion naira bailout offered by the Federal Government for the payment of backlog of salaries that was inherited from the immediate-past administration.
The revealed during the fifth National Economic Council meeting under the APC Administration, which was chaired by Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO at the Presidential Villa.
Cross Rivers State Governor, Professor BEN AYADE told State House Correspondents after the meeting that the revelation on the bailout applications was made by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, GODWIN AMEFIELE.
Governor AYADE also revealed that state governors secured the commitment of the Federal Government on the refund of monies spent on the maintenance of federal roads within their domain.
Speaking further on the outcome of the National Economic Council meeting; the Governor of Sokoto State, AMINU TAMBUWAL said a resolution was also reached assist states to deal with ecological challenges.
