Tunisia began their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a convincing 3–1 victory over Uganda in Group C.
The Carthage Eagles opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Ellyes Skhiri. Tunisia extended their lead just before halftime with a goal from Elias Achouri, who then added a second early in the second half to make it 3–0. Uganda pulled one back in stoppage time through Denis Omedi, but Tunisia held on for the win.
The victory places Tunisia at the top of Group C, setting them up for a crucial clash with Nigeria in the next round as they aim to build momentum in the tournament.
