The Federal Government had dragged the banks before the court for allegedly failing to remit seven hundred and ninety-three point two million US dollars to the TSA.
But the government counsel, Professor YEMI AKINSEYE-GEORGE, later applied to the court to withdraw the matter in favour of out-of-court settlement, which was granted by Justice CHUKA OBIOZOR.
In his ruling, Justice OBIOZOR held that the dismissal of an action is one of the gravest actions a plaintiff can face; hence the court must only exercise such discretion judiciously.
