Former Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has been named among African football legends selected to assist in the draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 qualifiers.
The Nigerian defender joins other iconic African players chosen by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to play ceremonial roles at the draw scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt.
Troost-Ekong, who enjoyed a distinguished international career with Nigeria, is recognised for his leadership qualities and key contributions to the Super Eagles at major tournaments, including his standout performances at previous AFCON editions.
The AFCON 2027 qualifiers draw will determine the pathway for teams aiming to qualify for the tournament jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
His selection further highlights his status as one of Nigeria’s respected modern football figures on the continental stage.
