Emohua Women Seek Divine Intervention Over Insecurity

Women from communities in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have turned to prayer, seeking divine intervention over growing insecurity and attacks in the area.

The development follows the gruesome murder and beheading of one of the women, identified as Ozemenu Wachukwu from Rumuohia Community, who was allegedly killed by unidentified persons a few weeks ago.

Reports indicate that Wachukwu had gone to her farm but never returned alive, in an incident that has heightened fears among residents, particularly women who depend on farming for their livelihood.

The women, dressed in black, sat on the floor and moved around community playgrounds while singing intercessory songs and crying out to God to intervene and fight their battles.

They said fear of the unknown had forced many of them to stop going to their farms, expressing concern over the safety of their lives and livelihoods.

The women called on the Emohua Local Government Council and the Rivers State Government to urgently strengthen security in the area, stressing that the protection of their lives should not be taken for granted.
