President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Eagles on their emphatic 4–0 victory over the Cheetahs of Benin Republic, commending the team for keeping the nation’s hopes alive in their quest for qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President lauded the players and coaching crew for their hunger, passion, and determination during the match played in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
President Tinubu said the team’s outstanding performance had reignited national pride and strengthened the unity of Nigerians through football.
“The Super Eagles have once again shown the resilient and never-give-up spirit that defines us as a people. Their victory brings joy to millions across the country and reminds us of what we can achieve together,” the President said.
He also encouraged the team to maintain their momentum and remain focused as they prepare for the remaining qualification matches, assuring them of the Federal Government’s continued support in their World Cup campaign.
