The World Health Organization is holding an emergency meeting to discuss the spread of the Zika virus.
The meeting was called after WHO officials observed that Zika has moved from a mild threat to one of alarming proportions.
The meeting in Geneva, Switzerland will decide whether to declare spread of Zika virus as a global emergency.
The virus has been linked to brain abnormalities in thousands of babies born in Brazil, although most Zika cases have no symptoms.
