The Federal Government says it is winning the war against corruption, although those indicted in various scams are fighting back.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji LAI MOHAMMED said government will neither be distracted nor intimidated into abandoning or weakening the fight against corruption.LAI MOHAMMED said the fight against corruption is a war of survival for the nation, stressing that no amount of media or other attacks will stop the fight.Addressing a meeting with Abuja Bureau Chiefs of media organizations, the Information Minister said those he described as pseudo-analysts and hack writers will labour in vain in their quest to stop the train of the anti-corruption fight.Alhaji Mohammed also noted with sadness that some otherwise credible voices have unwittingly allowed themselves to be railroaded into the bandwagon of pro-corruption orchestra.He said the sponsored attacks are not about to stop, adding that they will become more intense and more coordinated in the days ahead.MOHAMMED said the good news is that government is winning the war and Nigerians are now talking more about corruption.The Information Minister has been holding series of meetings with media stakeholders since he announced the launch of a national sensitization campaign on anti-corruption, which he intends to take across the country.He was in Lagos over the weekend and addressed News and Political Editors as well as On-Air-Personalities in two separate meetings.
