The Federal Government has launched a public call centre through the National Centre for Disease Control to facilitate quick response to all public health emergencies.The Minister of Health, Professor ISAAC ADEWOLE while performing the launch f the call centre, said the present administration was determined to provide access to health care information that will keep diseases away from Nigeria.The Health Minister urged Nigerians to take advantage of the call centre and assist government in the task of preventing the outbreak of diseases, especially Lassa fever, which has affected many states across the federation.He said once any patient is found with symptoms of Lassa fever, citizens call any of ten numbers, listed as 0970-000-10 to 9.The Minister said calls received through the call centre would be directed to the appropriate state epidemiologist or the nearest health facility.The Minister also said, where possible, patients could be picked-up from their locations and taken to the nearest health facility.
