However; it appears that Senator SARAKI might be losing the support of his colleagues in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, if latest signals in his ongoing criminal trial are anything to go by.From eighty Senators who usually accompanied Senator SARAKI to the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja, only nineteen Senators were with the Senate President at the resumed hearing of his case yesterday. But as the crowd of Senators reduced drastically, the number of lawyers in the defence team of the Senate President appears to be on the increase. Our Abuja correspondent, JAMES IGAH reports that Senator SARAKI stormed the Code of Conduct Tribunal yesterday with about ninety lawyers.Yesterday’s sitting also marked the eighth appearance of the Senate President before the Conduct Tribunal. In the meantime; the Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice DANLADI UMAR has admitted fresh exhibits that were tendered by the prosecution against Senator SARAKI.The exhibits include records of financial transaction allegedly made by Senator SARAKI.An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, MICHAEL WETKAS, appeared as prosecution.WETKAS testified how Senator SARAKI had ten thousand dollars deposited in his bank account eighteen times within a day.WETKAS alleged that the multiple uniform transactions were made on SARAKI’s account with GTB on 19th of May in 2009.
