The Caretaker Committees of twenty-two local government councils in Rivers State have been dissolved.

The Caretaker Committees of twenty-two local government councils in Rivers State have been dissolved. Governor NYESOM WIKE approved the dissolution of the local government CTCs with immediate effect. The decision was announced in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, OPUNABO INKO-TARIAH. The statement further disclosed that all the twenty-two local government Caretaker Committees are to handover to the various Heads of Local Government Administrations in their respective councils.
Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government is the only council in Rivers State that is manned by an elected executive.
