The Akwa Ibom State Governorship Election Tribunal has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to open its defence in the petition challenging the election of Governor EMMANUEL UDOM.

The Akwa Ibom State Governorship Election Tribunal has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to open its defence in the petition challenging the election of Governor EMMANUEL UDOM.  The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, UMANA OKON UMANA is challenging the victory of EMMAUEL UDOM in the election on 11th of April. Chairman of the tribunal, Justice SADIQ UMAR, gave the directive at the resumed hearing yesterday, as the PDP and its candidate, Governor UDOM closed their case. The tribunal adjourned sitting till today for continuation of hearing.
