Suspected cultists abduct and gang-rape pastor’s wife to death in Rivers community

Today FM gathered that the kidnappers abducted their victim at gunpoint in her community, Abarikpo in Ahoada area and took her to their den, where they raped her to death.

Report says she was abducted at about 1am on the 12th of February, 2023 and later found dead at about 10am in her community, with multiple injuries and blood stains all over her body.

Pastor lawyer steward, who is the husband of the victim confirmed that his wife was murdered by some group of boys after raping her, adding that neither he nor his late wife are members of any cult group.

Steward who is an Assistant Pastor in charge of Evangelism in Seventh Day Adventist Church, Abarikpo, called on the government to ensure that those who murdered his wife are brought to justice, as he revealed that one Sunday, has claimed to have slaughtered his wife for speaking against him.

Also speaking, the Public Relations Officer of Igbu Akoh Clan Youth Congress, Ekeakita Hector-Chinem, who also confirmed the abduction and rape of the married woman, revealed that the community has experienced series of killings without intervention.

Today FM reports that while the Rivers State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement on the killing, the Ahoada Police Division led by the Divisional Police Officer have visited the scene.

In the meantime, the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has condemned the abduction, rape and murder of Chigbewejim Lawyer.

The National Coordinator of the group, Prince Wiro called on the Police to ensure that those who perpetrated the act are made to face the wrath of the law.
