Spain Reach World Cup Final After Defeating France

European champions Spain have booked a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after a commanding 2-0 victory over France in the semi-final played in Dallas, Texas.

Spain delivered another impressive display, dominating possession and creating the better scoring opportunities to secure a comfortable win over the former world champions. The victory extends Spain’s unbeaten run in the tournament and keeps alive their quest for a second FIFA World Cup title.

Having already eliminated Portugal in the Round of 16 and Belgium in the quarter-finals, Spain have emerged as one of the standout teams of the competition with their disciplined defence and attacking football.

The Spaniards will now face either England or defending champions Argentina in Sunday’s final, while France will play in the third-place playoff against the loser of the second semi-final.

Spain will be aiming to add the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy to their growing list of honours, having won the tournament once before in 2010 and lifted the UEFA European Championship title in 2024.
