South Sudanese President SALVA KIIR has reversed his decision not to attend peace talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Cabinet Affairs Minister MARTIN ELIA LOMORO told journalists at a news conference that President KIIR left for the Ethiopian capital after he changed his mind. LOMORO said KIIR was convinced by regional leaders, especially President YOWERI MUSEVENI of Uganda to attend the talks.
Reports say the negotiations are supposed to lead to a peace deal but LOMORO did not indicate if President KIIR would sign the deal by the deadline imposed by the international mediation team, known as IGAD-Plus.
