South South Youths wants a committee to monitor NDDC

The youths and elders from various groups made the demand when the marched to the head office of the NDDC on Aba road in Port Harcourt, where they suggested that the committee members should come from communities across the region for effective and efficient monitoring of projects by the NDDC.

The leader of Amalgamated Leaders of Niger Delta, PANEBI AKINIMA who lead the match during the visit of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, GODSWILL AKPABIO to the commission accused the government and the commission of failing the people of the region in terms of youth employments and development.

AKINIMA urged the federal government to give the current acting Managing Director of the commission the power of attorney to sign cash, pay little debts and awards little jobs to elevate the suffering of the people especially the youths.

On their part, IYKE DANIEL and Chief RUFUS IYALA who demanded for a roundtable discussion with the minister of Niger Delta Affairs expressed hope that such meeting will help resolve some issues being raised by the youths.
